FSS SITE OFFICES
This list is subject to change by the USPS National headquarters. Check back for changes to this list.
Remember! Any office within a 50-mile-radius (as the crow flies) from any of the DPS flat impacted offices will have all residual routes held vacant and will not be awarded to the senior RCA. The sub of record on that residual route will run that route until the FSS hold is lifted. The 50-mile-radius crosses states and districts. If you would like to see if your office is within a 50-mile-radius of one of the DPS flat impacted offices, go to the website infoplease.com. Go to distance calculator. Type in the name of your office with pos after the name of your office. This will prompt all cities with your office name across the world. You would then pick your office. Do the same with one of the DPS flat impacted offices. You need to now hit calculate. This will show you the mileage. You may also have a 50-mile hold on your office from another district or even from another state.
The State Steward cannot release a route for bid if it falls in the criteria of any of the FSS MOUs. At the present time, all residual vacancies in FSS site offices are being held for the possible need for rebuild. The NRLCA filed a Class Action grievance which is scheduled for arbitration on the standard for DPS flats. The Union feels the standard should be 17 pieces per minute and the USPS feels it should be 69 pieces per minute. These routes are being held for the result of this arbitration. If the standard is set any higher than the 27 pieces per minute used at the last mail count and then the carriers go through a National Mail Count with the new standard, the residual routes in the FSS site offices may need to be used for rebuild.
