Again, make the check out to Raymond Nichols and the profit goes to PAC the same as above. I do have all the Longaberger products available. This is a new venture.

Thank You!
Ray Nichols, Ohio PAC Chairman

Tell Congress to Stop Contracting Out

On April 17, the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Columbia held an oversight hearing on the Postal Service. President Donnie Pitts testified at the hearing, warning Congress the security, sanctity, and service of mail are in jeopardy if the Postal Service continues this dangerous practice of contracting out. Unfortunately, the Postmaster General testified before the same subcommittee, telling members the Postal Service is exploring the expanded use of contracted delivery as a means of cost-effective delivery.

Congress, however, has not turned a deaf ear at our warnings of contracting out. Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ) has introduced House Resolution 282, a resolution expressing the “sense of the House of Representatives that the Postal Service should discontinue the practice of contracting out mail delivery.” While a resolution does not have the force of a law, it is a great start to show that Congress is in full support of our position.

Currently, 49 members of the House of Representatives are co-sponsors of H. Res 282. This is a respectable number; however, we need more co-sponsors. I encourage all of you who oppose contracting out to contact your Member of Congress and ask them to co-sponsor House Resolution 282. The Members of Congress who already are co-sponsors are listed below. If your member is already a co-sponsor in our fight against contracting out, please write them a thank you note for their support.

The NRLCA is working with the NALC and Mail Handlers Union, along with the support of the three Postal Service management associations, to show Congress, and the Postal Service, we mean business. If the Postal Service continues to hire and use contractors as a means of outsourcing and delivering mail, the NRLCA will aggressively pursue a legislative solution. Please contact your members of Congress today, and let them know this is a practice that must stop now.

-or-

I am a Rural Carrier and constituent in your district. I have learned from the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association that the United States Postal Service is encouraging delivery managers to favor Contract Delivery Service (CDS), using contract employees for delivery over city or rural letter carriers for all new deliveries based on cost savings. I write to urge you to so-sponsor Rep. Albio Sires’ (NJ-13) Sense of the House Resolution (H. Res. 282) that calls on the Postal Service to “discontinue the practice of contracting out mail delivery services.”

Delivery is a core function of the Postal Service and outsourcing this function is contrary to the mission of the agency. While looking to the bottom line, the Postal Service is jeopardizing the security, sanctity and service the Postal Service is known to provide.

(Personalize the letter by expanding on examples you have seen within your post office of a contract carrier violating/breaking the law or not doing the job properly.)
We need more co-sponsors, but we especially need more Republican co-sponsors
